Ingredients

  • 6 pieces Chicken thighs (boneless, skinless)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Season the chicken thighs with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder on both sides.

Step 3

In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.

Step 4

Sear the chicken thighs in the skillet for 3-4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Step 5

In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 6

Stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, honey, and water. Mix well and bring the sauce to a simmer.

Step 7

Return the seared chicken thighs to the skillet, nestling them in the barbecue sauce.

Step 8

Spoon some of the sauce over the chicken to coat it well.

Step 9

Cover the skillet with aluminum foil or a lid and transfer it to the preheated oven. Bake for 25 minutes.

Step 10

Remove the foil or lid and bake for an additional 10 minutes to thicken the sauce and slightly caramelize the chicken.

Step 11

Carefully remove the skillet from the oven. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Step 12

Serve hot with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or steamed vegetables. Enjoy!
