Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground chicken
  • 30 grams Fresh coriander (cilantro), finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons Sweet chilli sauce
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
  • 50 grams Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper, freshly ground
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped coriander, sweet chilli sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2

Mix the ingredients thoroughly using clean hands or a spoon until evenly combined.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty, roughly 2 cm thick. Place the patties on a plate or tray and set aside.

Step 4

Heat the vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Step 5

Once the oil is hot, carefully add the patties to the skillet, ensuring not to overcrowd. Cook in batches if necessary.

Step 6

Fry the patties for 5-6 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 75°C (165°F).

Step 7

Transfer the cooked patties to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

Step 8

Serve the Chicken Coriander and Sweet Chilli Patties warm alongside a dipping sauce, salad, or as part of a burger. Enjoy!
