Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground chicken
  • 50 grams Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 4 pieces Burger buns
  • 4 pieces Lettuce leaves
  • 1 large Tomato
  • 1 small Onion
  • 4 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 4 tablespoons Ketchup

Directions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Step 2

Form the chicken mixture into 4 evenly sized patties, ensuring they are slightly larger than the burger buns as they will shrink when cooking.

Step 3

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 4

Add the chicken patties to the skillet and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are fully cooked through and have a golden-brown crust.

Step 5

Place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover the skillet with a lid to melt the cheese.

Step 6

While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato and onion into thin slices.

Step 7

Toast the burger buns on a grill or in a dry frying pan until slightly golden.

Step 8

Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise and 1 tablespoon of ketchup on the cut sides of each bun.

Step 9

Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a cooked chicken patty, slices of tomato and onion, and then top with the other half of the bun.

Step 10

Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious homemade chicken cheese burgers!
