Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil.
Trim the ends off the asparagus spears and blanch them in boiling water for 2 minutes, then transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them with a meat mallet until they are about 1/4 inch (6 mm) thick.
In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
