Ingredients

  • 2 sheets Puff pastry sheets (thawed)
  • 1.5 cups Cooked chicken breast (shredded)
  • 1 medium Ripe pear (peeled, cored, and diced)
  • 4 oz Cream cheese (softened)
  • 0.5 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 0.25 tsp Ground black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 1 Egg (beaten, for egg wash)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced pear and cook for 4-5 minutes until softened. Stir in honey, ground black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Cook for another 2 minutes to lightly caramelize the pears, then remove from heat.

Step 3

In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, cooked pear mixture, and remaining salt. Mix until evenly incorporated.

Step 4

Unroll the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface and cut each sheet into 4 equal squares (8 squares total).

Step 5

Place about 2 tablespoons of the chicken and pear mixture in the center of each puff pastry square.

Step 6

Brush the edges of each pastry square with beaten egg, then fold the square diagonally to create a triangle. Press the edges together firmly, crimping with a fork to seal.

Step 7

Transfer the turnovers onto the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden, glossy finish.

Step 8

Bake for 18-20 minutes or until the turnovers are golden brown and puffed.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
