Ingredients

  • 500 grams chicken breast
  • 4 pieces garlic cloves
  • 2 pieces red chili
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water

Directions

Step 1

Slice the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and set aside.

Step 2

Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves. Slice the red chili thinly.

Step 3

Heat the vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 4

Add the minced garlic and sliced chili to the hot oil, stirring frequently, until fragrant (about 30 seconds).

Step 5

Add the chicken pieces to the wok. Stir fry until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink, about 5-6 minutes.

Step 6

In a small bowl, mix together the oyster sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and water to make the stir-fry sauce.

Step 7

Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked chicken, stirring well to coat evenly. Let it cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Step 8

Add the fresh basil leaves to the wok and toss gently until the basil is wilted, about 1 minute.

Step 9

Remove from heat and serve immediately with steamed jasmine rice.
