Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground chicken
  • 20 grams Fresh basil leaves
  • 3 units Garlic cloves
  • 1 unit Egg
  • 50 grams Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 50 grams Panko breadcrumbs
  • 30 ml Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil.

Step 2

In a small bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs and milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes to allow the breadcrumbs to soak up the milk.

Step 3

Finely chop the basil leaves and mince the garlic cloves.

Step 4

In a large mixing bowl, add the ground chicken, soaked breadcrumbs, egg, chopped basil, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper.

Step 5

Using clean hands or a spoon, mix everything together until evenly combined. Be careful not to overmix as this can make the meatballs dense.

Step 6

With damp hands, shape the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball (approx. 1.5 inches in diameter). Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each meatball.

Step 7

Brush or lightly drizzle the meatballs with olive oil to help them brown and stay moist while cooking.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the meatballs are golden brown and fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).

Step 9

Remove the meatballs from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving. Pair them with pasta, a dipping sauce, or a side of your choice.
