Ingredients

  • 115 grams unsalted butter
  • 432 grams yellow cake mix
  • 4 pieces large eggs
  • 227 grams cream cheese (softened)
  • 450 grams powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

Step 2

Melt the unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl or over low heat on the stove.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, yellow cake mix, and 2 of the large eggs. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Step 4

Press the cake mix dough evenly into the bottom of the greased baking dish to form the crust.

Step 5

In another large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese using a hand mixer or stand mixer until smooth and creamy.

Step 6

Add the remaining 2 eggs, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to the bowl with the cream cheese. Beat on medium speed until fully combined and smooth.

Step 7

Pour the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crust in the baking dish. Smooth the top with a spatula for an even layer.

Step 8

Bake the Chess Cake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set with a slight jiggle in the center.

Step 9

Allow the Chess Cake to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares or rectangles for serving.

Step 10

Serve at room temperature or chilled. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
