Ingredients

  • 0.75 cup Water
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1.5 teaspoons Almond extract
  • 3 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 3 cups Bread flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 0.5 cup Dried cherries
  • 0.25 cup Slivered almonds

Directions

Step 1

Add the water, milk, unsalted butter, egg, and almond extract to the bread machine pan in the order recommended by your bread machine manufacturer.

Step 2

Add the granulated sugar, salt, and bread flour on top of the wet ingredients in the pan.

Step 3

Make a small well in the center of the flour and add the active dry yeast. Ensure the yeast does not touch the liquid ingredients at this stage.

Step 4

Place the bread machine pan into the machine and select the 'Sweet Bread' cycle, or a similar cycle if available. Use the 1.5-pound loaf setting, if applicable.

Step 5

Start the bread machine. When the machine signals to add additional ingredients, usually during the kneading stage, add the dried cherries and slivered almonds.

Step 6

Allow the bread machine to complete its cycle. Once finished, carefully remove the bread from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
