Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds Ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)
  • 1 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoons Smoked paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons Onion powder
  • 1 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Egg
  • 0.25 cups Panko breadcrumbs
  • 4 Burger buns
  • 4 Cheddar cheese slices
  • 4 Lettuce leaves
  • 4 Tomato slices
  • 4 Red onion slices
  • 0.25 cups Mayonnaise
  • 2 Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 teaspoons Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoons Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, egg, and panko breadcrumbs. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Do not overmix.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about ¾-inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking. Set aside.

Step 3

Prepare the garlic aioli by mixing the mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil in a small bowl. Refrigerate until ready to use.

Step 4

Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates or pan to prevent sticking.

Step 5

Cook the burger patties for 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip them over. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired level of doneness.

Step 6

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster during the last minute of cooking.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers by spreading a layer of garlic aioli on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf on top, followed by a cooked burger patty, a slice of tomato, and a slice of red onion. Add the top bun.

Step 8

Serve immediately with your favorite sides, such as fries or a fresh salad.
