Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.25 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 pieces sliced tomatoes
  • 8 pieces sliced pickles
  • 0.25 cup mayonnaise
  • 0.25 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until evenly blended, but do not overwork the meat.

Step 2

Divide the turkey mixture into four equal portions. Flatten each portion into a thin patty.

Step 3

Place 2 tablespoons of shredded cheddar cheese in the center of one patty. Lay another thin patty on top and seal the edges tightly to enclose the cheese. Repeat with the remaining portions to form four stuffed patties.

Step 4

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat and add the vegetable oil.

Step 5

Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reads 165°F (74°C) to ensure the turkey is fully cooked and the cheese is melted inside.

Step 6

Toast the burger buns in a separate pan or on the grill for 1-2 minutes until golden and warm.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise and ketchup on the bottom half of each bun. Add lettuce, a cheesy turkey patty, a slice of tomato, and 2 pickles. Cover with the top bun.

Step 8

Serve hot with your favorite sides, such as fries or a green salad. Enjoy your Cheesy Turkey Burger!
