Ingredients

  • 8 pieces (store-bought, pre-cut triangles from 1 tube) crescent roll dough
  • 0.5 pounds ground breakfast sausage
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.25 cup cream cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium skillet over medium heat, cook the ground breakfast sausage, breaking it up into small pieces, until browned and fully cooked through. Drain any excess fat and let it cool slightly.

Step 3

In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, and cream cheese. Mix until well combined and set aside.

Step 4

Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface and separate it into the pre-cut triangles.

Step 5

Place approximately 1 heaping tablespoon of the sausage and cheese mixture onto the wide end of each crescent triangle.

Step 6

Roll up each triangle, starting from the wide end and rolling towards the tip, to form a crescent roll shape.

Step 7

Place the filled crescent rolls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Step 8

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash. Brush the egg wash lightly over each crescent roll to give them a glossy finish when baked.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and puffed.

Step 10

Remove the crescent rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and enjoy warm!
