  • 1.5 cups Rye flour

  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 1.25 cups Warm water (110°F/43°C)

  • 1 large Yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup Shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Caraway seeds (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a small skillet over medium heat, sauté the finely chopped onion in 1 tablespoon of olive oil until caramelized and golden brown, about 8-10 minutes. Set aside to cool.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread flour, rye flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Mix to combine the dry ingredients evenly.

Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the warm water and remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Stir until the mixture forms a shaggy dough.
