Ingredients

  • 12 ounces kielbasa sausage
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 medium (diced) yellow onion
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1.5 cups (frozen) peas
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup (shredded) sharp cheddar cheese
  • 0.25 cup (grated) parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons (chopped, optional for garnish) fresh parsley

Directions

Step 1

Slice the kielbasa sausage into 1/4-inch thick coins.

Step 2

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Step 3

Add the kielbasa slices to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until browned. Remove the kielbasa from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, add the diced onion. Sauté for 4-5 minutes, or until the onion becomes soft and translucent.

Step 5

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds, until fragrant.

Step 6

Add the frozen peas to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until heated through.

Step 7

Pour in the heavy cream and stir well. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes.

Step 8

Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and grated parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth.

Step 9

Season the mixture with salt and black pepper to taste.

Step 10

Add the cooked kielbasa back into the skillet and stir to combine. Allow everything to heat through for 2-3 minutes.

Step 11

Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, and serve warm.
