Ingredients

  • 16 large Button or cremini mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 4 ounces Cream cheese
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 0.25 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped parsley
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Gently clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel to remove any dirt or debris. Remove the stems and finely chop them, setting them aside.

Step 3

In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped mushroom stems and minced garlic. Sauté for about 3 minutes until the mushroom stems are soft and garlic is fragrant.

Step 4

In a bowl, combine the sautéed mushroom stems and garlic with cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the filling is smooth and well combined.

Step 5

Use the remaining tablespoon of olive oil to lightly grease a baking dish. Arrange the mushroom caps, hollow side up, in the dish.

Step 6

Using a small spoon, fill each mushroom cap with the cheese mixture, mounding slightly on top.

Step 7

Bake the stuffed mushrooms in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the tops are golden brown.

Step 8

Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with extra chopped parsley if desired.

Step 9

Serve warm as an appetizer or a savory snack.
