Ingredients

  • 500 g Ground beef
  • 750 g Potatoes
  • 1 large Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 250 ml Beef stock
  • 50 g Butter
  • 100 ml Milk
  • 150 g Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp Paprika (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Peel and chop the potatoes into even-sized chunks. Place them in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until tender.

Step 2

While the potatoes are cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.

Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

Stir in the tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, paprika (if using), salt, and pepper. Pour in the beef stock and simmer for 10-12 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
