Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Almond flour
  • 0.25 cup Nutritional yeast
  • 0.25 cup Tapioca starch
  • 0.5 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons Onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoons Paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoons Sea salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Ground turmeric (for color, optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Filtered water
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, combine almond flour, nutritional yeast, tapioca starch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, sea salt, and optional ground turmeric. Mix well to combine evenly.

Step 3

Add the olive oil and filtered water to the dry ingredients. Stir until a cohesive dough forms. If the dough feels too dry, add a tiny bit more water, about 1 teaspoon at a time, until it holds together without crumbling.

Step 4

Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper and roll it out to about 1/8-inch thickness. Try to keep the thickness even for uniform cooking.

Step 5

Carefully transfer the rolled-out dough (still on the parchment paper) onto your baking sheet.

Step 6

Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the dough into small 1-inch squares. Optionally, use a skewer or fork to poke a hole in the center of each square to mimic classic cheese crackers.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until the crackers are golden and crisp. Keep an eye on them to avoid burning, especially towards the end of cooking time.

Step 8

Remove from the oven and let the crackers cool on the baking sheet for about 10 minutes. They will crisp up further as they cool.

Step 9

Once completely cool, transfer the crackers to an airtight container for storage. They can be kept at room temperature for up to 5 days.
