Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) Active dry yeast
  • 1 cup (110°F/45°C) Warm water
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 cup Pizza sauce
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 20 slices Pepperoni slices
  • 1 medium (thinly sliced) Green bell pepper
  • 1 small (thinly sliced) Red onion
  • 0.5 cup (sliced) Black olives
  • 0.5 cup (sliced) Mushrooms
  • 0.5 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 0.25 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, active dry yeast, and sugar. Stir gently and let the mixture sit for 5–10 minutes until bubbly and foamy.

Step 2

Add the olive oil, salt, and 2 1/2 cups of flour to the yeast mixture. Stir until the dough begins to come together.

Step 3

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 6–8 minutes, gradually adding the remaining flour as needed, until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Step 4

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise for 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

Step 5

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.

Step 6

After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a lightly floured surface into a 12-inch circle. Transfer the dough to a pizza pan or parchment paper if using a pizza stone.

Step 7

Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.

Step 8

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.

Step 9

Top the cheese with pepperoni slices, green bell pepper, red onion, black olives, and mushrooms.

Step 10

Sprinkle the dried oregano and crushed red pepper flakes over the toppings for added flavor.

Step 11

Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

Step 12

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
