Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground turkey (94% lean)
  • 4 oz Sharp cheddar cheese (cubed)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 3 tbsp Almond flour
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil (for grilling)
  • 4 pieces Lettuce wraps or whole-grain sandwich thins (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, egg, almond flour, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until evenly combined.

Step 2

Divide the turkey mixture into 8 equal portions and form each portion into a thin patty, about 4 inches in diameter.

Step 3

Place a cube of cheddar cheese in the center of 4 of the patties.

Step 4

Cover each cheese-topped patty with another plain turkey patty. Gently press the edges together to seal the cheese inside and form a stuffed burger.

Step 5

Heat a grill pan or outdoor grill over medium heat. Brush with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Step 6

Place the stuffed burgers on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the burgers are fully cooked. Avoid pressing down on the burgers to keep the cheese from leaking out.

Step 7

Remove the burgers from the grill and let rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Step 8

Serve the cheddar stuffed burgers with lettuce wraps or whole-grain sandwich thins, along with your favorite South Beach Diet-approved side dish.
