Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter (cold and cubed)
  • 1 cup Shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 0.75 cup Whole milk
  • 0.25 cup Unsalted butter (melted for topping)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder (for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried parsley

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, garlic powder, and salt.

Step 3

Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the butter into the flour mixture until pea-sized crumbs form.

Step 4

Gently fold in the shredded sharp cheddar cheese.

Step 5

Pour in the milk and stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix. The dough should be slightly sticky but manageable.

Step 6

Using a spoon or a cookie scoop, drop mounds of dough (about 2 tablespoons each) onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden on the edges and cooked through.

Step 8

While the biscuits bake, prepare the butter topping by mixing the melted butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley in a small bowl.

Step 9

As soon as the biscuits come out of the oven, brush the tops generously with the garlic butter mixture.

Step 10

Serve warm and enjoy! These biscuits are best eaten fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
