Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.5 cup honey mustard sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 0.25 cup chicken broth (or water)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

Step 2

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.

Step 3

Once the oil is hot, place the chicken breasts in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until nicely browned. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

Lower the heat to medium. Pour the honey mustard sauce and chicken broth (or water) into the skillet. Stir well to combine.

Step 5

Return the chicken to the skillet, making sure each piece is coated in the sauce. Cover with a lid and let the chicken simmer for 12-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/74°C).

Step 6

Spoon the sauce over the chicken occasionally while it cooks to ensure maximum flavor.

Step 7

Serve the chicken hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired. Pair with steamed vegetables, rice, or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
