Ingredients

  • 2 packs dried ramen noodles
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced thinly
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 0.5 teaspoons red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds (optional garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a medium-sized pot. Add the dried ramen noodles and cook according to the package instructions (usually 3-4 minutes). Drain and set aside.

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, and brown sugar until the sugar dissolves. Set aside.

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.

Step 4

Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

Step 5

Add the cooked and drained noodles to the skillet and toss gently to coat in the oil and garlic.

Step 6

Pour the soy sauce mixture over the noodles and toss again to evenly coat. If desired, sprinkle the red pepper flakes for a slight kick.

Step 7

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, to allow the flavors to combine.

Step 8

Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds, if using.

Step 9

Serve immediately and enjoy!
