Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Orange zest
  • 0.5 cup Fresh orange juice
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 Large egg
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 1.5 cups Fresh whole cranberries
  • 0.5 cup Chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a standard 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and orange zest until well combined.

Step 3

In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the orange juice, melted butter, egg, and milk.

Step 4

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Do not overmix; the batter will be thick.

Step 5

Fold in the fresh cranberries and walnuts (if using) until evenly distributed in the batter.

Step 6

Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly with a spatula.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the bread comes out clean.

Step 8

Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 9

Slice and serve! For storage, wrap the bread tightly in plastic wrap and keep at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
