Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 3 tbsp Chardonnay wine
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 minced garlic clove
  • 0.25 cup onion
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 pieces burger buns
  • 1 as needed optional toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, etc.)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, finely chopped spinach, Chardonnay, panko breadcrumbs, minced garlic, diced onion, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2

Using clean hands or a spatula, mix the ingredients together until just combined. Take care not to overmix, as it can make the burgers tough.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty about 1/2 inch thick.

Step 4

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat and add the olive oil.

Step 5

Once the oil is hot, carefully place the turkey patties in the pan. Cook for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature of the burgers reaches 165°F (74°C) and the outside is golden brown.

Step 6

When done, remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest for a minute or two.

Step 7

Toast the burger buns lightly in the same skillet or in a toaster, if desired.

Step 8

Assemble the burgers by placing the turkey patty on the bottom bun and layering it with your favorite toppings such as lettuce, sliced tomato, onion, and extra spinach. Add the top bun to finish.

Step 9

Serve immediately with your choice of sides like sweet potato fries, a side salad, or roasted veggies.
