Ingredients

  • 1 lb Pizza dough
  • 1 bunch Swiss chard
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 4 oz Chèvre (goat cheese)
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 tsp Kosher salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Cornmeal

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). Place a pizza stone or an inverted baking sheet in the oven while it heats.

Step 2

Wash and dry the Swiss chard. Separate the leaves from the stems. Chop the leaves into bite-sized pieces and finely dice the stems.

Step 3

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced chard stems and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.

Step 4

Add the chopped leaves and kosher salt to the skillet. Sauté for another 5-7 minutes until the chard has wilted and any excess moisture has evaporated. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 5

Mince the garlic and mix it with the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a small bowl.

Step 6

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle or your desired shape. If the dough resists stretching, let it rest for a few minutes and try again.

Step 7

Sprinkle the pizza peel or a sheet of parchment paper with cornmeal to prevent sticking. Transfer the dough onto the prepared surface.

Step 8

Brush the entire surface of the dough with the garlic-infused olive oil.

Step 9

Evenly distribute the sautéed chard over the pizza dough. Crumble the chèvre over the top, followed by the shredded mozzarella cheese.

Step 10

Sprinkle Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) over the toppings.

Step 11

Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

Step 12

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for 2-3 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
