Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Ginger (grated)
  • 1 Green chilies (finely chopped, optional)
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 0.5 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 0.5 tsp Red chili powder (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup Vegetable or chicken stock
  • 0 to taste Salt
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Fresh cilantro (chopped, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the cumin seeds and let them splutter for 30 seconds, releasing their aroma.

Step 3

Stir in the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 4

Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chilies (if using). Cook for another 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Mix in the turmeric powder, coriander powder, and red chili powder (if using). Stir for 30 seconds to toast the spices.
