Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 0.5 lb Ground pork
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 0.5 tsp Chili powder
  • 0.75 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.25 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 4 Brioche buns
  • 0.25 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp Lime juice
  • 1 cup Green cabbage
  • 0.5 cup Carrots
  • 1 tsp Honey
  • 4 Cheddar cheese slices
  • 1 tbsp Cooking oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, chili powder, salt, black pepper, breadcrumbs, and egg. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Step 2

Form the mixture into 4 evenly-sized burger patties, about ¾ inch thick. Use your thumb to create a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Step 3

Prepare the zesty slaw by combining shredded green cabbage, shredded carrots, lime juice, honey, and a pinch of salt in a mixing bowl. Toss well and set aside.

Step 4

In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise and hot sauce to create a spicy mayo. Adjust hot sauce to taste and set aside.

Step 5

Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and add the cooking oil. Once hot, cook the burger patties for 3-4 minutes per side for medium doneness, or longer if desired. During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese and cover the pan to melt.

Step 6

While the burgers are cooking, toast the brioche buns on a dry skillet or grill until golden brown.

Step 7

To assemble the Cha Cha Burgers, spread a generous amount of spicy mayo on the bottom half of each bun. Place the cooked burger patty on top, followed by a heaping spoonful of the zesty slaw. Finish with the top bun.

Step 8

Serve immediately with your favorite sides and enjoy!
