Begin by soaking the cedar grilling plank in water for at least 2 hours. This prevents the wood from catching fire during grilling.
In a small saucepan, combine Captain Morgan R Lime rum, honey, lime juice, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ground black pepper. Heat over medium heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly reduced and syrupy.
Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 375°F).
