Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Beef steaks (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 3 tablespoons Lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 3 pieces Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Ground allspice
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Brown sugar
  • 2 stalks Green onions (chopped)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium mixing bowl, combine lime juice, olive oil, minced garlic, thyme leaves, ground allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, cayenne pepper, salt, black pepper, and brown sugar. Mix well until fully blended to form the marinade.

Step 2

Place the beef steaks in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are evenly coated. Add the chopped green onions to the marinade.

Step 3

Cover the dish with plastic wrap or seal the bag and refrigerate. Allow the steaks to marinate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight, for maximum flavor.

Step 4

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F/200°C). Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.

Step 5

Remove the steaks from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Discard the remaining marinade.

Step 6

Place the steaks on the preheated grill. Cook for 5-6 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust the cook time to your desired doneness.

Step 7

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute and ensures a tender bite.

Step 8

Serve hot with your favorite sides, such as rice and peas, grilled vegetables, or a fresh mango salsa, for a true Caribbean experience.
