In a small saucepan, heat the whole milk over medium heat until warm but not boiling (about 43°C or 110°F). Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes, or until the mixture turns frothy.
In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook, combine the frothy yeast mixture, 60g of melted butter, eggs, 450g of flour, salt, and 2g of ground cardamom. Mix on low speed until the dough starts to come together.
Gradually add the remaining 50g of flour as needed, kneading the dough on medium speed for 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough feels sticky, sprinkle in a little more flour.
Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
While the dough is rising, prepare the filling. In a small mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, remaining cardamom, cinnamon, and 50g of softened butter. Mix until evenly combined and set aside.
Once the dough has doubled, turn it out onto a floured surface and roll it into a large rectangle, approximately 30x40 cm.
Spread the prepared filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border along the edges. Starting from one long side, tightly roll up the dough into a log.
Using a sharp knife or unflavored dental floss, cut the log into 12 equal slices. Arrange the slices in a greased 9x13-inch baking pan, spacing them slightly apart.
Cover the pan with a towel and let the rolls rise again for 30 minutes, or until they have puffed up.
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Brush the tops of the rolls with heavy cream for a golden finish.
Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until lightly golden on top. Allow them to cool slightly.
For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, 15ml of milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls and serve immediately.
