Ingredients

  • 1 small (8 ounces) wheel of brie cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 sheet puff pastry sheet (optional)
  • 1 package crackers or baguette slices (for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and place a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet.

Step 2

If using puff pastry, slightly roll out the sheet with a rolling pin. Place the brie wheel in the center of the sheet, wrap it fully in the pastry, and pinch to seal the edges. Set aside.

Step 3

In a small skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.

Step 4

Stir in the brown sugar until fully dissolved and bubbly, about 2 minutes.

Add the honey, chopped pecans, and a pinch of salt. Stir to coat the pecans evenly and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the mixture is caramelized and slightly thickened. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Once out of the oven, immediately pour the slightly cooled caramelized pecan mixture over the baked brie.
