Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup Caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered sugar (optional, for topping)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Step 3

Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, work the butter into the flour mixture until the texture resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 4

In a separate small bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, vanilla extract, caramel sauce, and egg until smooth.

Step 5

Pour the wet ingredients into the flour mixture. Use a spatula or wooden spoon to gently mix until a dough forms. Be careful not to overwork the dough—it's okay if it's slightly sticky.

Step 6

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and gently pat it into a round disk about 1-inch thick.

Step 7

Using a knife or bench scraper, cut the dough into 8 equal wedges, like a pie, and transfer them to the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each scone.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 16-18 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown on top.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and allow the scones to cool for 5-10 minutes before optionally drizzling with additional caramel sauce or sprinkling with powdered sugar for garnish.

Step 10

Serve warm or at room temperature and enjoy with your favorite beverage.
