  • 2 cups Pecans
  • 30 pieces Soft caramels
  • 2 tablespoons Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon Vegetable shortening
  • 0.5 teaspoon Flaky sea salt (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Step 2

Spread the pecans in a single layer on the baking sheet. Toast them in the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until they are fragrant. Allow the pecans to cool completely.

Step 3

Line another baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange small clusters of 3-4 toasted pecans on the sheet, leaving some space between each cluster.

Step 4

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the soft caramels and heavy cream. Heat in the microwave on 50% power for 1-2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until the caramel is completely melted and smooth.

Using a spoon, carefully drizzle about 1-2 teaspoons of melted caramel over each cluster of pecans. Allow the caramel to set for 10 minutes.
