Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt

Directions

Step 1

In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.

Once the butter is melted, stir in the brown sugar. Cook the mixture for about 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture becomes smooth.

Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring. Continue cooking the mixture for another 3–4 minutes, allowing it to bubble gently. This creates the caramel base for your frosting.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Allow the caramel mixture to cool slightly for about 10 minutes.
