Ingredients

  • 200 grams All-purpose flour
  • 100 grams Unsalted butter (cold)
  • 50 grams Granulated sugar
  • 1 large Egg yolk
  • 200 milliliters Heavy cream
  • 150 grams Brown sugar (packed)
  • 80 grams Unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon Sea salt
  • 20 grams Chocolate shavings (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a 9-inch tart pan.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and granulated sugar. Add the cold butter and use a pastry cutter or your hands to mix until the texture resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 3

Add the egg yolk and mix until the dough comes together. Press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared tart pan. Prick the base with a fork to prevent puffing during baking.
