Ingredients

  • 2 sheets Refrigerated pie crusts
  • 3 medium Apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 0.25 cups Granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cups Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoons Ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 0.5 cups Caramel sauce
  • 1 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tablespoons Water

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 12-cup muffin tin.

Step 2

Unroll the refrigerated pie crusts onto a floured surface. Using a 4-inch round cookie cutter or a glass, cut out 12 circles. Press each circle into the muffin tin to form a small cup shape.

Step 3

Peel, core, and dice the apples into small, bite-sized pieces.

Step 4

In a large bowl, combine the diced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, cornstarch, salt, and lemon juice. Mix until the apples are evenly coated.

Step 5

Divide the apple mixture evenly among the pie crust cups, filling them to just below the rim.

Step 6

Add a small dollop (about 1 teaspoon) of caramel sauce on top of each apple mixture.

Step 7

Cut the butter into 12 small pieces and place one piece on top of each cup.

Step 8

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to make an egg wash. Brush the edges of the pie crust cups lightly with the egg wash.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and let the pie cups cool in the tin for about 10 minutes. Carefully transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 11

Before serving, drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over the top of each pie cup.

Step 12

Serve warm or at room temperature and enjoy your delicious Caramel Apple Pie Cups!
