  • 500 grams pork shoulder (cut into 1-inch cubes)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 large egg
  • 500 ml neutral cooking oil (for frying)
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 100 grams pineapple chunks
  • 1 medium white onion, diced
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (for sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (for sauce)
  • 100 ml water (for sauce)

Directions

Step 1

1. In a large bowl, marinate the pork cubes with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of Shaoxing wine (if using) for 15 minutes.

2. Prepare the batter by mixing 4 tablespoons of cornstarch, 4 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, 1 egg, and 2 tablespoons of water in a mixing bowl until smooth.
