Ingredients

  • 25 pieces Assorted hard candies (e.g., Jolly Rancher, Life Savers)
  • 1 can Non-stick cooking spray
  • 10 pieces Lollipop sticks or string/ribbon for hanging
  • 1 sheet Parchment paper or silicone baking mat
  • 5 pieces Metal cookie cutters in festive shapes (e.g., stars, trees, gingerbread men)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat and lightly spray the inside of your metal cookie cutters with non-stick cooking spray. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 3

Sort your hard candies by color or flavor and place a few pieces inside each cookie cutter, making sure they touch each other. Use enough candies to make a thin but complete layer within the cutter once melted.

Step 4

Put the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 4-6 minutes, or until the candies have fully melted into a smooth and even layer. Keep a close eye during the last 2 minutes to ensure they don’t bubble or burn.

Step 5

Remove the baking sheet from the oven and immediately insert a lollipop stick or create a hole at the top of each ornament using a toothpick/skewer (if you plan to hang them later with ribbon). Work quickly before the candy hardens.

Step 6

Allow the ornaments to cool completely in the cookie cutters, about 15-20 minutes. Once cooled, gently press them out of the cutters.

Step 7

If using a skewer-created hole, thread ribbon or string through it to create a hanging loop for decorating.

Step 8

Store in an airtight container until ready to use, or hang directly on your tree and enjoy their festive sparkle!
