Ingredients

  • 24 pieces Edible flowers (pansies, violets, roses, etc.)
  • 1 large Egg white
  • 150 grams Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Water

Directions

Step 1

Ensure the flowers you are using are edible and pesticide-free. Gently rinse them in cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Remove any excess stems or inedible parts.

Step 2

In a small bowl, whisk the egg white with 1 teaspoon of water until frothy. This will help thin the egg white for easier application.

Step 3

Using a small food-safe brush, lightly coat each flower petal (both sides) with the egg white mixture. Be sure to cover the entire surface area for the sugar to adhere properly.

Step 4

Sprinkle granulated sugar evenly over both sides of the coated flower. Shake off any excess sugar gently.

Step 5

Place the sugared flowers on a wire rack lined with parchment paper to dry. Ensure the flowers do not touch one another to prevent sticking.

Step 6

Allow the flowers to dry completely at room temperature. This process can take 12-24 hours depending on the humidity.

Step 7

Once the flowers are completely dry and crisp, store them in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. Use them to decorate desserts or enjoy as a sweet snack!
