Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef (85% lean)
  • 0.5 pounds Italian sausage
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat a small amount of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, and celery, and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute. Set aside to cool.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, Cajun seasoning, paprika, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and the cooked vegetable mixture.
