Ingredients

  • 16 ounces crescent roll dough
  • 8 ounces ground sausage
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 0.5 cup bell pepper (finely diced)
  • 0.25 cup onion (finely diced)
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat and set aside to cool slightly.

Step 3

In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, cream cheese, diced bell pepper, diced onion, Cajun seasoning, and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

Step 4

Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles as marked. Place a heaping tablespoon of the sausage mixture onto the wide part of each triangle.

Step 5

Carefully roll each triangle, starting at the wide end and rolling toward the tip. Place the rolled crescents seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 6

Brush the tops of the turnovers with melted butter to promote browning and a flaky texture.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent turnovers are golden brown and puffed.

Step 8

Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired, for a pop of color.

Step 9

Serve warm and enjoy your flavorful Cajun Crescent Turnovers!
