Ingredients

  • 12 large leaves Green cabbage leaves
  • 2 medium Carrot
  • 1 medium Zucchini
  • 1 large Bell pepper (red)
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Chives or parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Carefully separate 12 large outer leaves from a green cabbage, washing them thoroughly. Pat dry and trim the thick stems if necessary for even stacking.

Step 2

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Blanch the cabbage leaves for 1-2 minutes until slightly softened, then transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain and set aside.

Step 3

Peel and julienne the carrots and zucchini into fine strips. Slice the red bell pepper into thin strips as well. Mince the garlic cloves.

Step 4

Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 5

Add the julienned carrots, zucchini, and bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until slightly tender but still vibrant.

Step 6

Drizzle soy sauce over the vegetables, then sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Toss everything together and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat.

Step 7

On a large serving platter, arrange a single cabbage leaf as the base. Spoon a small amount of the stir-fried vegetables onto the leaf.

Step 8

Layer another cabbage leaf on top, slightly offset from the one below, and repeat the process of adding vegetables. Continue stacking leaves and vegetables, creating a conical 'tree' shape, until all ingredients are used.

Step 9

For a decorative touch, garnish the assembled 'Cabbage Tree' with finely chopped chives or parsley sprinkled on top.

Step 10

Serve immediately as a stunning side dish or a light main course. To serve, gently slice through the layers or allow everyone to peel off their portion.
