Ingredients

  • 1 head Green cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves Minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 375°F/190°C).

Step 2

Remove any damaged outer leaves from the cabbage and rinse it under cold water. Pat the cabbage dry with a clean towel.

Step 3

Cut the cabbage into 1-inch thick slices or 'steaks,' keeping the core intact to hold the pieces together.

Step 4

Brush both sides of each cabbage slice with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

Step 5

Place the cabbage steaks directly on the grill grates. Close the lid and cook for 10-12 minutes per side, or until the edges are charred and the center is tender. Turn carefully using tongs or a spatula.

Step 6

While the cabbage is grilling, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley and lemon juice.

Step 7

Once the cabbage steaks are cooked, remove them from the grill and place on a serving platter.

Step 8

Drizzle the garlic butter sauce generously over the grilled cabbage steaks and serve immediately. Optional: garnish with extra fresh parsley or a sprinkle of smoked paprika for color.
