  • 1 medium head Green cabbage
  • 1 pound Smoked sausage
  • 3 medium Russet potatoes
  • 3 medium Carrots
  • 1 large Yellow onion
  • 2 cloves Minced garlic
  • 4 cups Chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 1 piece Bay leaf

Directions

Step 1

Begin by preparing the vegetables. Chop the cabbage into bite-sized chunks, peel and dice the potatoes, peel and slice the carrots, and finely dice the onion.

Slice the smoked sausage into 1/4-inch rounds.

Step 3

In a skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and sauté the sausage for 4-5 minutes until lightly browned on the edges. Transfer the sausage to the crock pot.

In the same skillet, sauté the onions and minced garlic for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Add them to the crock pot.

Layer the chopped cabbage, diced potatoes, and sliced carrots on top of the sausage and onion mixture in the crock pot.
