Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • 4 large Flour tortillas
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 0.5 cup Refried beans
  • 1 cup Lettuce, shredded
  • 0.5 cup Tomatoes, diced
  • 0.5 cup Sour cream
  • 0.5 cup Guacamole
  • 0.25 cup Pickled jalapeños (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until the spices are evenly distributed throughout the meat.

Step 2

Divide the seasoned ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about 1/2 inch thick.

Step 3

Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil. Once hot, place the burger patties into the pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for well-done beef.

Step 4

Remove the cooked burger patties from the pan and let them rest for 2-3 minutes.

Step 5

While the burgers are resting, warm the flour tortillas in a clean dry skillet or directly over a gas flame for about 15-20 seconds on each side until pliable.

Step 6

Spread a thin layer of refried beans onto each tortilla.

Step 7

Place a cooked burger patty in the center of each tortilla and top with shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole, and pickled jalapeños (if using).

Step 8

Carefully fold the bottom of the tortilla up over the burger, then fold in the sides, and finally roll it up tightly like a burrito.

Step 9

Serve the Burrito Burgers immediately with additional guacamole, sour cream, or salsa on the side if desired.
