Directions

Step 1

Use a round cookie cutter, a small drinking glass, or the rim of a jar to cut a hole (about 2-3 inches in diameter) in the center of your bread slice.

Step 2

Place a medium frying pan over medium heat. Add the butter and let it melt, spreading it evenly around the pan.

Step 3

Once the butter is melted and slightly sizzling, place the bread slice and the cut-out circle (optional) into the pan.

Step 4

Crack the egg directly into the hole in the middle of the bread. Be careful not to break the yolk.
