Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 4 pieces Burger buns
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 4 slices Cheese slices (optional)
  • 4 pieces Lettuce leaves
  • 4 pieces Tomato slices
  • 2 tablespoons Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Cooking oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, ground black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the burgers tender.

Step 2

Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4-inch thick. Use your thumb to make a slight indention in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. If using cheese, place a slice on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to allow it to melt.

Step 4

While the burgers cook, add 1 tablespoon of butter to a separate skillet over medium heat. Crack one egg into the pan and cook until the whites are set but the yolk remains runny (about 2-3 minutes). Repeat with the remaining eggs.

Step 5

Toast the burger buns by spreading the remaining tablespoon of butter on the cut sides and placing them on a skillet over medium heat for 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown.

Step 6

To assemble, spread a thin layer of ketchup and mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Layer with a slice of lettuce, a slice of tomato, the cooked burger patty, and finally, a fried egg. Place the top bun on and press down gently.

Step 7

Serve immediately with your favorite sides and enjoy your Bull's Eye Burger!
