Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 0.25 cup buffalo sauce
  • 0.5 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup blue cheese crumbles
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 0.25 cup sliced red onion
  • 0.25 cup ranch or blue cheese dressing (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, buffalo sauce, panko breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until all ingredients are well incorporated. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 2

Divide the turkey mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties about 1/2 inch thick. Make a slight dent in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat and add olive oil. Once hot, place the burger patties in the pan and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Step 4

During the last minute of cooking, sprinkle blue cheese crumbles onto each patty and cover the pan with a lid to allow the cheese to melt slightly.

Step 5

Lightly toast the burger buns in a separate skillet or under a broiler, if desired.

Step 6

Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a cooked turkey patty with melted blue cheese. Add sliced red onion and a drizzle of ranch or blue cheese dressing if using. Top with the other half of the bun.

Step 7

Serve immediately and enjoy your Buffalo Turkey Burgers with Blue Cheese!
