Rinse the wild rice thoroughly under cold water and drain.
In a medium saucepan, bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Add the wild rice, salt, and butter. Cover, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 40-45 minutes or until the rice is tender and most of the water is absorbed. Drain any excess water and set the rice aside.
While the rice is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the sausage links to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the sausage from the skillet and slice into rounds. Set aside.
In the same skillet, add the diced onion and celery. Cook, stirring occasionally, until they are softened and translucent, about 5 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
Pour the Budweiser beer into the skillet, scraping the bottom to deglaze and lift any browned bits. Let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
Add the chicken broth to the skillet and stir to combine. Return the sliced sausage to the skillet, then stir in the cooked wild rice.
Season the mixture with black pepper and red pepper flakes (if using). Simmer the entire dish over low heat for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.
Serve warm, optionally topped with a sprinkle of shredded parmesan cheese for an extra layer of flavor.
