Ingredients

  • 2 cups Whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2.25 teaspoons Instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Warm water (about 110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Cornmeal (for dusting)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well to evenly distribute the dry ingredients.

Step 2

Slowly add the warm water and olive oil to the bowl, stirring with a wooden spoon or your hands, until the dough begins to come together.

Step 3

Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8–10 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic. If the dough is sticky, sprinkle in small amounts of all-purpose flour as needed.

Step 4

Form the kneaded dough into a ball and place it in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free area for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

Step 5

Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release any air bubbles. Transfer it back to a lightly floured surface and roll it into a circle (or the shape of your pizza pan). Aim for a crust thickness of about 1/4 inch.

Step 6

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Place a pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven while it preheats.

Step 7

Sprinkle a light layer of cornmeal on a piece of parchment paper or directly on the pizza stone/baking sheet. This prevents sticking and gives the crust a pleasant texture.

Step 8

Transfer the rolled-out crust onto the prepared surface. Add your desired toppings and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crisp.

Step 9

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
